Planting Moon

Planting Moon is an improvisation group started by Sarah Louise (House and Land) and Nathan Olson. Multi-instrumentalists Andrew Zinn and Sally Anne Morgan (Black Twig Pickers, House and Land) join them. Mindful listening and an intention to give each other space results in fluidly expressive music that ranges from studies in quiet textures to heavy psych jams. Planting Moon finds inspiration everywhere, but finds special fascination exploring the role traditional music played in shaping different branches of psychedelia in the 60s and 70s. Spiritual and free jazz, minimalism, British folk rock, Krautrock, Swedish Progg, Appalachian music and other drone styles from around the world drive their explorations.
